Kisen runs a tracing agency in Stanisla, a city far from his home, together with Beatrix, a talking pocket watch that his deceased brother left for him. There, he is asked by a local university student Dimir to look for his younger brother who disappeared twelve years ago.
Twelve years ago, there was three peculiar incidents in Stanisla: the serial kidnapping case, the acrid smell at the city's traditional Aenjan Festival, and the suicide by drowning of a foreign clockmaker, i.e. Kisen's brother.
As he learns more about what happened back then, he understands the struggle between the brothers and the true intention behind the series of incidents.
