Over The Rainbow

I remember i tried this because i clicked on any VN i encountered and try to do literally anything to not get bored in said moments. Fortunately i stopped doing that because it drove me to places like whatever this is supposed to mean. It's is certainly a tasteless story if i have ever seen one.…

planetarian ~Dream of Little Star~

Completed this like two years ago. I did at midnight and then started at my computer for almost an hour. Speechless. It has this and that bits of details throgout the story (dialogs for me kinda) but i think it was a nice experimental kinetic novel from KEY, it does enough for what it does offer.…

WHITE ALBUM: Memories like Falling Snow

No matter what you do, Yuki cheats on you at the end. Shit game. I went in liking the game at the beginning, but its major flaws continue to plague it all through the playthrough. There were so many time where the game decides to take away your agency as you're forced to watch Touya take whatever…

Saihate no Ima

Saihate no Ima is, well, probably one of the most deranged visual novels I've ever had the pleasure of reading. They were always seven. Cherishing even the smallest scraps of time, they would gather at an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town. A forgotten rectangular structure, carrying rust…

Kajiri Kamui Kagura

A character driven game whose characters are also it's biggest flaw. The whole point is their development throughout the journey, but...with the exception of Soujirou who's a shining example of how it should have been done, there just isn't nearly enough there for anyone else? The way the main…

The Bell Chimes for Gold

heeheheehhehe OKAY TO SET THE SCENE!!!!.... I was looking to get into otome games for MONTHS! My friends reccomending me lots of the mobile ones that like everyone has had some experience with seeing ads of or straight up playing (Obey Me, LaDS,etc) which is really not anything i liked TOO much…

He’s the PERFECT Boyfriend, Until... 🥀 | A Bouquet of Madness Review

Maggot baits

Maggot Baits is an incredibly polarising work for me, on one hand you have the brilliant thematic intertwining of Christianity, and a really substantial narrative. It is plagued with horrendous pacing issues that completely drag down the whole narrative. I first started Maggot Baits in April, only…

In! Joku! Pink Ranger!! ~Ochita Henshin Heroine~

The most obscure VN by Appetite . If you’re reading this, you’re likely browsing through their catalogue or simply enjoy reading random reviews. Nobody cares for Pinkren, and for a good reason, this game is shit. In the same way Oretsun felt like the right way to make an Appetite game, Pinkren does…

Japanese School Life

i don't know really think i can firmly recommend or dissuade someone from reading this. the protagonist is an American guy who is studying in Japan for a year. to sum up his personality think of the biggest, cringiest weeb with a borderline level of knowledge of Japan, which is composed almost…

NICE TO MEET YOU, AGAIN

What is to be expect? - A mystery&suspense VN with romance. (50% Slice of life + Romance and 50% Mystery) - Not so complicate plot, but it can surely satisfy those who love time travel plot. - Only one main heroine. MC is pretty cool and rational, heroine is big-sisterly and caring. - Slightly…

Shigatsu Youka

死月妖怪 was my first visual novel in Japanese, and I went in knowing nothing about it. I'd recommend you do the same. This game gripped me fast and didn't let go until the very end. There is already a good review by IMA-tan covering the core mechanics of the game which I don't want to repeat (read his…

How to Find and Install 18+ Visual Novel Patches on Steam – Beginner’s Guide

18+ patches, also called R18 patches, adult patches, uncensor patches, or H-scene patches, restore adult content to “all-ages” visual novels. While our individual visual novel walkthroughs will provide information on specific titles, this guide is intended to explain in general how to find and install 18+ patches. What is an 18+ Patch? Many Japanese visual novels […] The post How to Find and Install 18+ Visual Novel Patches on Steam – Beginner’s Guide appeared first on NookGaming .

D ~Sono Keshiki no Mukougawa~

D is a sort of christmas game, heavily carried by its oneiric atmosphere and... Charlotte bonking the MC every hour? the premise is very intriguing at first, but overall the whole story was a huge nothingburger. for like 80% of the game, random stuff just keeps happening with very little context…

Rewrite

This is a very long review. Be prepared. I'll preface this by saying that my primary focus in fiction tends to be the characters over the other elements in writing. This means their characterisation, development, their dynamics with each other, strength/flaws, motivations, agency, and the way they…

Happiness!

I have a soft spot for Windmill Oasis games, particularly the Campanella series. I loved the original, found the fandisk surprisingly fun, and the spiritual successor flawed, but not bad. Seemingly it was Happiness that put the company on the radar since it has been the first game from them that…

HimaNatsu: Of Churches, Sunflowers, and Long Summers

I mainly read this due to the art style being similar to that of Subahibi and overall I felt the quality was charming and felt like were the majority of the focus was when it came to the making of this VN. The OST was alright and would fit along with most scenes, the OP in particular was pretty…

Ousama Ren'ai

Honestly, the best ASa Project visual novel to date. The protagonist is an absolute chad, haughty yet it doesn't feel overbearing, mostly comical. Had a great time from start to end, every character has a couple screws loose leading to funny moments the entire time. I typically get bored with…

Steins;Gate

Emotional story with memorable characters alongside the very distinct artstyle create a solid base that makes every minute spent on this well worth its time - pretty much a must read for those visiting this website. This game is somewhat known for its convoluted branching, but honestly, I don't see…

The Dark Room

After finishing this I feel like this is just misery porn. There's no critique on the taboo, nor is there any unique perspective of it. It was just is bad and therefore everyone's life just conveniently falls apart and gets destroyed, so don't do it! Nothing left a big impression, and the taboo…

Ever17 -out of infinity-

I played steins gate and zero escape but still this game have the best plot twist imo, I don't understand why people think zero escape is better, it's not even close, I do think the "solving" part in this game is pretty cheap compare to the plot twist itself though

Gensou Manège

Very cute looking game, Emma is very cute too, legit best part of game. Some good music too. But pacing is not good, it gets really boring at times but that might be bcuz pure romance puts me to sleep. On top of that, I unfortunately found LIs designs to be fairly generic. Idk if it's cause of…

Magical Girl Witch Trials

Although the trials can be a bit cumbersome (especially towards the end of the game) and fail to make sense on occasion, the characters themselves are all so uniquely lovable and interesting to learn about. This was one of the easiest VNs to pick up for me, because no matter who was on screen, I…

Labyrinthos The Depths Want You: Trekking on crap until the plot kicks in

9-nine-:Episode 2

i played this part in japanese my first ever vn to finish in japanese so let's talk about how good was this episode comparing to first ep. we had more characters introduced more things going on we knew more about artifacts and the other world so this was an expansion to the world giving it more…

Wonderful Everyday ~Diskontinuierliches Dasein~

Finished Subahibi (Wonderful Everyday). Solid 8/10. Great denpa game with Alice in Wonderland vibes and top-tier storytelling. The entry barrier is messed up, but with today's shifted Overton window, it's really not that shocking. The piano OST is full of bangers. One thing that really got to me…

Sayonara o Oshiete ~Comment te Dire Adieu~

I havent had any experience like this one its completely new to me, even though i am new to the visual novel community i understand the weight of this work. Its surreal feeling of repetetiveness and stunning art is exactly what draws you in. I have to first state that the first route (I did…

Killer Queen

As usual, I just completed the game and I want to share my thoughts right away. I want to say a lot about the game. I have an incredible amount of excitement from the game. At some point during the game, the events and characters became so boring and uninteresting that I just started looking at the…
