The story begins with a heavily pregnant protagonist, on the verge of childbirth, who accepts a friend's invitation to visit an old family estate in Iwate Prefecture, Japan—the Shirase House. Within the oppressive atmosphere of this venerable mansion, she gradually becomes exposed to the local ancient and eerie folk traditions.
As her exploration deepens, the dark secrets hidden within the estate begin to surface. The heroine finds herself drawn into a terrifying legacy centered around a Zashiki-warashi (house spirit), dolls, and a certain mysterious aberration. The visions she witnesses defy rational understanding, brimming with madness and distortion.
