Description
The protagonist of this story.
He lost both of his parents in a traffic accident when he was young. Since then, he has been living under the care of his aunt and uncle, who had no children of their own.
Because the Miori couple lived next door to his aunt and uncle’s house, he met their only son, Haruto, and the two became close friends.
Out of sympathy for Wataru, who had lost his parents, Shizuku began looking after him along with her son Haruto. Wataru came to see her as a true mother figure. However, as he entered puberty, he began to see Shizuku as a woman and gradually developed romantic feelings for her.
Once he became aware of his feelings for her as a woman, his affection for Shizuku grew stronger with each passing day. Now he finds himself masturbating every day at home while thinking about her.
Although he understands that his love is impossible to fulfill because she is his best friend’s mother and already has a husband, he cannot bring himself to give up on his feelings for her.
Compared to Haruto — who is handsome and popular with girls — Wataru’s looks, academic ability, and athletic skills are all average.
He is the type who can reliably achieve around 70 points in anything he tries, but he sees himself as a “jack of all trades, master of none” with no standout talents compared to Haruto.
He has been thinking about confessing his feelings to Shizuku even as a last resort, but he hesitates, believing that rejection is inevitable and that, in the worst case, she might even stop seeing him altogether.
